Cheryl brings specialized experience on global sustainable development issues. Throughout her 20 year career, she has worked closely with fortune 500 companies on sustainability across sectors, as well international, EU-level and national policy agendas through the design and management of multi-stakeholder engagement processes.
Cheryl is the Executive Director of the Toilet Board Coalition. From 2010 till 2015, she was responsible for sustainability strategy at Quadia. Prior to this, Cheryl was the focal point on Sustainable Finance, Sustainable Consumption and manager of the Accountability and Sustainability Reporting Working Group at The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), a business coalition of corporate sustainability leaders. From 2001-2004 Cheryl worked for The Hospital for Sick Children Foundation in Toronto, and explored the social responsibility of companies related to impacts on health. From 1995-2001 Cheryl held various corporate positions with Thompson Connect, Gazoom.com, ELS International and Drake International.
Cheryl is Canadian, and a graduate of The University of Western Ontario, with studies in International Relations and Environmental Science. Throughout her career Cheryl has worked and lived in Australia, Canada, Colombia, France, Mexico, South Korea, and is currently based in Geneva, Switzerland. Cheryl’s project work has included widespread travel to emerging markets, particularly Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Since arriving in Geneva, Switzerland in 2004, Cheryl has co-founded two professional networks: CSR Geneva (2005) and Sustainable Finance Geneva (2007). Cheryl is a frequent speaker and writer on sustainability and in 2010 delivered a TED talk at TEDx Geneva on: The Power of Networks in Advancing Sustainable Development.
