Quadia is proud to announce today its participation in Olio's $6m Series A round, led by Octopus Ventures, alongside existing investors including Accel, and Quentin Griffiths (Co-Founder of ASOS & Achica) and others. This injection of capital will support the company in the acceleration of its growth and the expansion of the “Food Waste Heroes Programme” which allows for retailers, events and corporate canteens to become zero food waste.
In just over 2 years, Olio app has enabled to share over 600'000 portions of food. The company's mission is both environmental, by tackling the problem of food waste, and social. At its heart, Olio is all about connection and empowering local communities with the support of 20'000+ volunteers. It has facilitated over 200'000 neighbor-to-neighbor doorstep exchanges, thereby helping to increase social cohesion, and decrease social isolation.
